谢衍站起来，走到窗前，推开窗户。
四月的风带着花香吹进来，暖暖的，却吹不散他心里的那团乱麻。
他在想什么？
她出去和萧翎见面，关他什么事？
她又不是他的谁。
谢衍把窗户关上，回到书桌前，重新拿了一张纸，开始写策论。
这一次，他写得很用力，一笔一划都像是刻进去的。
写到一半，他突然停下来。
他想起一件事。
萧翎的伯母不满意沈鹿溪的出身。
虽然萧翎说会处理，但谢衍知道，这种事不是一句话就能解决的。定远侯府是大族，规矩多，门第之见深。沈鹿溪一个商户孤女，嫁进去之后，日子不会好过。
他放下笔，靠在椅背上，闭着眼睛想了一会儿。

“去查一下定远侯府的情况，”他说，“尤其是大房那边，看看萧翎的伯母到底是什么意思。”
砚书愣了一下：“世子爷，您这是……”
“让你去就去。”
“是。”
砚书转身要走，谢衍又叫住他。
“还有，”谢衍的声音淡了一些，“查一下萧翎自己。他在定远侯府说话算不算数，能不能做主。”
砚书看了他一眼，心里明白了什么，但不敢说，应了一声，退了出去。
谢衍坐在书桌前，盯着那盏灯，沉默了很久。
他不知道自己为什么要查这些。
沈鹿溪和萧翎的事，跟他没有关系。
可他就是忍不住。
他想知道萧翎有没有能力护住她，想知道定远侯府会不会让她受委屈，想知道——
她嫁过去之后，会不会过得幸福。
谢衍闭上眼睛，把那些乱七八糟的想法压下去。
