“大娘，我帮您吆喝两声？”
老太太一愣。
“你？”
“我以前在村里代销点干过，会卖货。”
我笑了笑，不等她回答，就扯开嗓子喊起来。”
我声音清亮，口齿伶俐，又懂得看人下菜碟。
不到半个时辰，摊位前围满了人，老太太的存货卖出去大半。
“姑娘，你可真神了！”
老太太笑得合不拢嘴，拉着我的手不放。
“我女婿是百货大楼的副经理，他们纺织柜台正缺个售货员！”
“你要是不嫌弃，我给你引荐引荐？”
我愣住了，随即心跳加速。
“大娘，您说的是真的？”
“骗你干啥！”
老太太拍着我的手。
“我就住在前面筒子楼，咱回去慢慢说。”
“我这辈子识人准，你这丫头机灵、嘴甜、会来事，去百货大楼委屈不了！”
我帮老太太扛着剩下的货物，跟着她走进一条巷子。
老太太姓周，以前是大户人家的太太，拉着我问长问短。
我成了周老太太的房客，一个月五块钱，包吃住。
第二天老太太就拉我到百货大楼。
经理是个四十多岁的中年人，打量我几眼。
“妈，这就是您说的那个会卖货的丫头？”
“可不是！”
周老太太把我往前一推。
“半个时辰卖出去我一天的货！这样的本事，你上哪找去？”
经理和老太太对视一眼，老太太瞪他。
“还犹豫啥？我眼光什么时候错过？”
“行。”
刘经理笑了。
“妈都发话了，我敢不从？。”
三天后，我正式成了百货大楼的售货员。"
