顾庭渊看向窗外。
日头已经西斜，按理说……她早该到了。
怎么还没来？
又等了一炷香的功夫，门外依旧静悄悄的。
琴音再次响起，却再也抚不平他心底渐渐升起的焦躁与不安。
“陈远。”他忽然开口，声音沉了几分。
陈远连忙应声：“末将在。”
“去醉芳斋问问，何小姐买了糕点后，往哪个方向去了。”
陈远领命而去，回来时脸色有些古怪。
“说。”顾庭渊的声音冷得像冰。
“伙计说……何小姐买了两盒杏仁糕，往东街去了。”
东街？
那不是去江府的方向吗？
“哐当”一声，茶盏被重重砸在桌上，溅起的茶水湿了半幅桌布。
柳如霜被吓了一跳，琴音戛然而止。
“顾哥哥？”
顾庭渊猛地站起身，脸色阴沉得仿佛能滴出水来。翌日清晨，何姣姣正对镜梳妆。
青萝从外头匆匆进来，神色慌张，“小姐，听说江大人今日告了病假，未曾上朝。”
何姣姣手中的玉梳“啪”地掉在妆台上，：“阿兄病了？昨日不是还好好的”她转过身，“可打听到是什么病？严不严重？”
青萝摇头：“江府口风紧，只说大人需要静养，不见外客。”
不见外客。
何姣姣心口猛的一抽。
阿兄从不称病，上一次他告假，是三年前替她挡了惊马，断了两根肋骨。
“备车，去江府！”

马车在青石板路上疾驰，何姣姣攥紧了手中的帕子，指尖掐得发白。
昨日阿兄送她出门时，确实压抑着咳嗽了好几声，她当时只当是寻常风寒，随口叮嘱了两句。
她怎么能这般粗心！
她掀开帘子催促道，“快一些！”"
