丁砚书带人举着火把跟在后面。

约莫三四岁，穿着单薄破旧的棉袄，小脸冻得青紫，嘴唇发白。眼睛闭着，睫毛上结了霜。
她身边，倒着两具成年人的尸体。
一男一女，衣衫褴褛，像是流民。尸体已经僵硬，死了至少两日。
孩子怀里，紧紧抱着一块硬邦邦的、啃了一半的窝头。
丁砚书上前探了探鼻息：“督主，还活着。但很弱。”
霍凛面无表情。
他见过太多死人，也见过太多将死之人。
乱世里，冻死饿死的流民，不差这一个。
“走吧。”
他转身。
衣摆却被什么勾住了。
低头。
一只冻得通红的小手，不知何时从草堆里伸出来，攥住了他大氅的一角。
那孩子睁开了眼。
眼睛很大，黑白分明，却没什么神采，像是蒙了层雾。
她看着他。
张了张嘴，声音细得几乎听不见。
