在货车驶过的瞬间，雷霆叼着陆念，精准地钻进了路边的排水渠——那里正好是货车灯光的死角，也是追兵视线的盲区。
轰隆隆的车轮声掩盖了一切动静。
追上来的人群被强光晃了眼，下意识地停住了脚步。
“人呢？”
“刚才还在呢！”
“是不是跳上车跑了？”
“不可能！那车都没停！”
排水渠里，冰水混合着烂泥，臭气熏天。
陆念被雷霆死死压在身下，雷霆温热的身体替她挡住了上面掉下来的冰渣。
她听着头顶上那些杂乱的脚步声和咒骂声，吓得瑟瑟发抖，眼泪无声地流淌。
不知过了多久。
脚步声终于远去。
“真晦气，跑得倒快！等明天天亮了再找！跑不了多远！”
周围重新归于死寂。
只有风声，还有雷霆越来越微弱、像是破风箱一样的喘息声。
陆念从雷霆身下钻出来。
借着微弱的月光，她看到雷霆闭着眼睛，因为流血陷入了半昏迷状态。
“雷霆……”
陆念颤抖着伸出手，摸了摸雷霆冰凉的鼻子。
“别睡……求求你别睡……”
“妈妈睡着了就没醒过来……”
“我不许你睡！”
雷霆费力地睁开眼皮，那双曾经锐利的眼睛此刻蒙上了一层灰翳。它伸出舌头，想要再舔一舔小主人的手，却只舔到了一半，头就重重地垂了下去。
但它依然保持着一个姿势——
把陆念护在怀里，头朝着敌人来的方向。
陆念崩溃了。
她抱着雷霆血迹斑斑的大脑袋，在这个一九八五年的雪夜荒野里，发出了幼兽般无助的悲鸣。"
